Holme Junior & Infant School

School Council

Our School Council is made up of a variety of children from each year group representing their cohort, class and school. They are keen to improve the school's environment, support local, national and international charities and provide a voice for all pupils. They meet once a month during a lunchtime. Children are voted in to specific roles (eg. chairman, treasurer, secretary) and support the smooth running of the Council.

As we start the new year, our children will be voted in through our democratic system after delivering a speech. We will celebrate their achievement in a Celebration Assembly and will look forward to the work they do throughout the year.

Our 2023-2024 School Councillors

What we have supported with in the past.

In 2022, School Council held an assembly, where they presented individually or in pairs, to the whole school with resources that they had made after researching various international charities. The children then all voted for the international charity they would like to support the most. UNICEF was chosen as the one the children would like to support as a school.

At Christmas, during our Carols Round The Tree concert, Student Council worked very hard to sell cakes and buns baked by the members of our school community, which the children had organised, sending out letters to parents to gain their support. Altogether they raised £65.00!

The previous year, the School Council created a tea towel and mugs to raise money at our Christmas Fayre.
